We are looking to expand our established team of Technicians, in the South-West of England.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Energy Assessor to conduct systematic and comprehensive site surveys of all parts of the building, including HVAC systems, fixtures, fittings, and elements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and expertise in building systems, with a focus on HVAC systems. The surveyor will be responsible for collecting accurate and detailed data to support building assessments, maintenance plans, and energy efficiency initiatives.
This a fully remote, home working role with regular contact and visits to our head office located in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Training can be required for any ABBE qualifications not held by the assessor. We will also seek for the assessor to become a chartered energy manager with the Energy Institute within an agreed timeline and additional training.
The main aspects of this role are:

Conducting thorough site surveys of commercial buildings, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all areas, including HVAC systems, fixtures, and elements.

Inspecting, documenting, and evaluating the condition, performance, and efficiency of building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.

Utilising appropriate tools and equipment to measure and record relevant data, such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and energy consumption.

Identifying and documenting any deficiencies, malfunctions, or potential areas of improvement related to building systems, including HVAC equipment.

Preparing detailed reports and analysis based on survey findings, including recommendations for maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or energy efficiency improvements.

Collaborating with other professionals, such as engineers, facility managers, and maintenance technicians, to ensure accurate and effective communication of survey results and recommendations.

Staying up to date on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to building systems and energy efficiency.
As a Commercial Energy Assessor, you will have proven experience in conducting site surveys of commercial buildings, with a focus on HVAC systems. You will have a strong technical knowledge and understanding of building systems, including HVAC equipment, fixtures, and elements, and a familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for site surveys, such as thermal imaging cameras, airflow meters, and data loggers. You will have an excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and record data, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions.
You will demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders, and show an ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines. You should have a familiarity with building codes, regulations, and energy efficiency standards and demonstrate a willingness to travel to different locations for site surveys.
